Townsville Highlands Tunnel Tour
The entrance point to Townsville’s Highlands is a comfortable forty minutes drive west of the city climbing to 400 metres above sea level onto the western ranges.

Townsville Highlands Tunnel Tour is a unique Eco Experience, one that offers a diverse range of attractions including Aboriginal culture, pioneering history and the construction of the Greenvale Rail Corridor with tunnels cut through solid granite (two of which are over 400 metres in length). Spectacular vistas across to Cleveland Bay combined with the surrounding flora achieve an invigorating environment, here you see the views and smell the trees.
The tour also includes a cuppa at “Kookaburra Bush Café” in the Australian Bush.

Wallaman Falls – Australia’s Tallest Waterfall
Wow! Mind-blowing! Awesome! These are just a few words expressed by visitors on first seeing Wallaman Falls – the highest sheer drop waterfall in the southern hemisphere (over 300 meters in height).

Our first stop will be at the multi award winning historic Noorla Heritage Resort within the quaint sugar town of Ingham.

Then, enter a Time Capsule of Evolution to view the falls – the World Heritage Listed Wet Tropics Rainforest of North Queensland is the oldest continual surviving rainforest on earth.

The day also includes a visit to Tyto Wetlands Interpretive Centre a part of Australia’s largest urban wetlands rehabilitation project.

Ghosts of Gold in the Outback
Charters Towers is renowned for its heritage and gold mining history, at the height if the 1880’s it was the second largest city in Queensland and was referred to as “The World”.

The city is a living museum that preserves an amazing story 137 years old. Some of the attractions include:


• The Stock Exchange Arcade built in 1888

• Ay Ot Lookout House built in the 1890’s

• Venus Battery – Australia’s largest surviving battery relic, constructed in 1872

• Towers Hill Lookout

Townsville’s Hidden Ancient Rainforest
Step off the bus into a different world – an ancient rainforest, with crystal clear mountain streams and cascading waterfalls.

This is a day tour through to the rainforest village of Paluma, within the Mount Spec National Park.

Your day takes in an amazing diversity of environments from the Dry Open Savannah country around Townsville through a part of the oldest continual surviving rainforest in the world to the rugged terrain of the western side of the Paluma Range.

We will visit Hidden Valley Cabins - Australia’s first carbon neutral accommodation and tour company, taking in a tour through their solar plant that generates all of the resort’s electricity.

The day is rich with scenery, experiences and great local characters!

An Aboriginal Cultural Experience - Nywaigi People and Mungalla Station
The Nywaigi people are the Traditional owners of woodland and rainforest country around the Ingham district. As owners of Mungalla Cattle Station they maintain strong connections to their land. Listen to Dream Time Stories and learn about bush medicine, bush tucker and the making of Aboriginal stone tools.

This is an amazing story of an ancient culture that dates back thousands of years.

Tour the Mungalla property - the first cattle station in the Herbert River district settled by James Cassidy in 1882. The homestead houses the exhibition Captive Lives: Looking for Tambo and his Companions (at one stage a travelling exhibition around Australia).

This is a fascinating exhibit of the story of Aboriginal people from Mungalla and surrounding areas being exploited in 19th century sideshows.

The day also includes a visit to Tyto Wetlands Interpretive Centre, a part of Australia’s largest urban wetlands rehabilitation project.
