Amethyst Lodge can accommodate up to a maximum of 8 guests in four modern, tastefully decorated non-smoking suites with a maximum of two guests per room. Situated in a quiet secluded area off the Melba Highway, it is a perfect relaxing retreat for couples or small groups wishing to explore the delights of the Yarra Valley or simply to relax and unwind from day to day city life. It is also an ideal place to stay for wedding parties with the Yarra Valley becoming increasingly popular for vineyard weddings.
A fully-cooked/buffet or "traditional English" breakfast with many homemade delights is served in our dining room which has views of rolling hills and distant ranges. Special features of the Lodge include a separate guest lounge with wood fire, games room with pool table, darts and table tennis and a small gym featuring a 4-person spa bath. Rated 5-star by AAAT and awarded many commendations for customer service, Amethyst Lodge is noted for guests' comfort and hospitality.
Packages can be arranged for dinners at local restaurants, including De Bortoli and the famed Eleonore's Restaurant at Chateau Yering; a free chauffeur service is provided to these and other nearby restaurants. Other packages are available for group or personal winery tours, in-house massages and hot air balloon flights (Amethyst Lodge is only five minutes from ballooning departure points).
Amethyst Lodge is perfectly situated within half an hour's drive of some 65 cellar doors in the Yarra Valley, not to mention Yarra Glen's antique shops, monthly racecourse craft market and farmers markets. The famed Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary and National Trust Gulf Station are nearby and also numerous forest drives and walks.
