Woolmers Estate
Woolmers Estate is situated near Longford Tasmania, Australia twenty-five minutes from Launceston. The Estate has outstanding cultural significance because it represents a continuous association with the Thomas Archer family, providing an encapsulated record of six generations, and the changes to their lifestyle, from the time the land was first settled circa 1817 to the death of the last heir in 1994. Note from Monday 5 Oct. to Friday 6 Nov 2009 access from Longford township to Woolmers Estate is blocked as Woolmers Lane and Woolmers bridge is closed to traffic. Please use A.1 Highway (Midland highway)during this time to visit the Estate.

The four restored free settlers cottages, Willow, Oak, Cherry Tree and Medlar have been made to appeal to groups of friends travelling together. Similarly furnished, with new bathrooms and kitchens added to original sitting rooms and upstairs, loft-style bedrooms, they are situated in blocks of two. Doors can be opened to connect each pair if desired.

The rate includes accommodation in our fully self contained cottages which includes a self guided tour around the grounds.Inspection of the Historical Homestead (Circa 1819)is available with a 50% off rack rate when you are a guest.(Tours are not available on Public holidays or Sundays from April 2012). The Servants Kitchen is open daily fromm 11.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m but closed evenings.(Servants Kitchen is closed on Public holidays and Sundays from April 2012). Continental breakfast is ony available if pre-orderded with an additional cost. WOOLMERS ESTATE IS A WORLD HERITAGE LISTED PROPERTY.
