You arrive at Paronella Park after a peaceful drive through the lush greenery of the far north. Not knowing what to expect you embark on a journey of discovery.
The 5 hectare Park was developed in the 1920s/30s by Spanish immigrant Jose Paronella, an early eco-tourism operator, as a pleasure garden. Visitors are amazed to find amongst the many buildings, North Queenslands first Hydro Electric system, and fountains fed by the 40 foot Mena Creek Falls.
A 45 minute guided walk takes you through the highlights of the park and tells the extraordinary story of Jose Paronella's dreams and vision.
