Pelican Sands is nestled in the heart of the magnificent north east coast of Tasmania right on the beachfront at the mouth of the Scamander River.

The grounds are spacious and landscaped, with picnic tablese on the waters edge, the swimming pool is heated, there is a children's playground, BBQs and we have an excellent wine list as we are licensed for guests.

Whilst our accommodation is fully self-contained, not everyone wants to cook on holidays, therefore we are very happy to announce that we will be opening our new restaurant, "Gilly's at Pelican Sands" in October 2008. Our menu will be based on fresh, seasonal Tasmanian produce with an excellent wine list to compliment our menu.

We have a "stay for 7 nights and only pay for 6" offer which is year round.

This is the ideal location for relaxing and re-charging your batteries. Miles of pristine white sandy beaches with clean, clear turquoise waters are yours to enjoy. You can stroll along the beach, have a picnic, surf the waves or swim in the lagoon at the front of the property. Or if you are more energetic you can take one of the kayaks and paddle the reaches of the Scamander River and enjoy the bushland scenery. For those who enjoy fishing, the Scamander River has a reputation for excellent bream fishing with salmon and flathead aplenty off the beach or play a round of golf at our local club.

Day trips which are an easy drive will take you through some lovely countryside, visit the Pyengana Cheese Factory, taste some award winning cheeses, visit waterfalls, National Parks or explore the picturesque Blue Tiers area.
