Just an easy half hour drive away from the bustle of Launceston brings you to Launceston Lakes.
You will find Tasmanian Devils, parrots, emus, owls, alpacas and other exotic animals in our Wildlife Park.
Test your skills and fly fish for trout in our well stocked lakes.
Tuition and equipment is available.

Nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Tamar Valley region, Launceston Lakes adjoins native bush land.You can spot wallabies, wombats, echidnas and other Australian fauna in the wild.
The sounds of native birds welcoming the breaking of day will greet visitors enjoying their early morning fishing.
After staying overnight in the comfort of your city motel, you can easily make the half-hour trip up to the lakes after breakfast.

Devil Feeding times are: 10.30am, 1.00pm, 3.30pm.

Learn the art of fly fishing at the the waters edge with our experienced guides, 5 pieces of water well stocked with rainbow and brown trout.
Our guides are experienced and will add in refreshing your technics and fly patterns.


$150 Half Day (includes guide and gear) 9am - 1pm or 1pm - 5pm

Tasmania Zoo Bus Service

Tasmania Zoo also offers a bus service from the Launceston CBD and surrounding area’s. (Casino, Caravan Parks, Backpackers and Hotel / Motels).
The bus will depart the nominated pick up area between 9.00am – 9.30 and return around 12.01pm – 12.30pm ready for the afternoon service.
Afternoon Service leaves the nominated pick up area at 12.30pm and returned back to your location around 4.00pm.
Prices are as Followed for the Bus:
$25.00 per Adult and that includes the Return Bus Service and Park entry
$18.00 per Child and that includes the Return Bus Service and Park entry

Wet & Wild Buggies

Our Guided Native Bush Circuit is an approximately 17 km tour which takes 30 minutes around natural and native bushland.
As this is a separate operation to the zoo, bookings are essential.
Must have a minimum of a Learners Drivers Licence. Bring enclosed footwear.

Tasmania Zoo

Tasmania Zoo is situated 18km from the CBD of Launceston.

We have over 80 species of birds, 3 species of monkeys, Koala’s, Reptiles, Wombats, Echidna’s, Quolls and our Famous Tasmanian Devils.

Devils feeds are 3 times a day 10.30am, 1.00pm, 3.30pm followed by a devil pat.

Tasmania Zoo also has a kiosk area where beverages and a range of food can be purchased or feel free to bring a picnic lunch or a BBQ lunch to cook on our free BBQ.
