This special Banksia Adventure will provide you with rare access to one of Australia’s most sought-after destinations. Touring in the magnificent Flinders Ranges is an experience not to be missed – majestic ranges, rugged scenery and ever changing light. The changing seasons bring a myriad of textures – in summer, clear blue skies with a purple haze over the mountains and contrasting shadows create eerie patterns in the canyons and gorges.

Here you will have an opportunity to visit one of the wineries. Now you continue your journey northward into the Southern Flinders Ranges. Visit the historic town of Melrose and see Mount Remarkable, travelling towards the country towns of Wilmington and Quorn. The Southern Flinders Ranges are famous for their nature filled valleys and riverbeds. Lined with massive River Red Gum trees, they are home to a multitude of native Australian animals and birds. Warren Gorge is one of the few gorges in the Flinders Ranges that is a natural habitat to the Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies, Kangaroo’s, Kookaburra’s and Emu’s to name a few. Travel through Pichi Richi Pass, following the historic Old Ghan Railway line. Enjoy splendid panoramic views over the Spencer Gulf. Now, as you have the waters of the gulf on one side and the magnificent ranges on the other, you travel back towards Adelaide. The journey past historic ports provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of this trade route in by-gone days. Arriving back in Adelaide, you will have experienced both the wildlife and diverse landscape that is Australia.

Life's a Beach 1 Day 4WD Tour

All over the world, Australia is known for its beaches. The area to the south of Adelaide is known as the Fleurieu Peninsula and is rich not only with beaches and striking seascapes, but also has an abundance of native animals in their wild habitats. This adventure takes you from Adelaide down the rugged southern coast, along adventurous 4WD terrain, through conservation parks teeming with wildlife and down to the shores of the Great Southern Ocean.
You will visit the Deep Creek Conservation Park with coastal views to Kangaroo Island. It is home to a multitude of kangaroos that feed in the open grasslands. From here, you go on to visit Victor Harbor. This historic town was once a major whaling centre. The whales may be seen in the winter months frolicking in the coastal waters off Victor Harbor. A visit to Urimbirra Wildlife Park is a special experience where you can meet a koala up close and personal! In addition, this sanctuary is home to many birds, including parrots, kookaburras and eagles as well as dingoes, wombats, kangaroos and even crocodiles. Next stop is the historic town of Goolwa. This was a thriving port in the days when paddle steamers traded up and down the Murray River. Here the Murray River, Australia’s largest waterway, is separated from the sea by only a very narrow strip of sand dunes. At Goolwa, you will make your way down to the beach. This huge expanse of sand stretches as far as the eye can see towards the mouth of the Murray River. The distance is hidden in the mist of the surf as it rolls in from the Great Southern Ocean. When conditions are suitable, your 4WD guide will drive onto the beach. Returning to Adelaide via the Mt Lofty Ranges, we travel through Strathalbyn, one of the regions prettiest towns, which was settled by Scottish immigrants and is one of South Australia’s oldest towns.

Barossa Valley 1 Day Exclusive Private Wine Experience Tour
: Max 6 people
A private tour with an expert wine guide to Australia’s best know wine appellation, including visits to both main parts of the region; the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. The Barossa has the world’s oldest Shiraz vineyards, some dating back to the 1840’s. Perfectly suited to the regions climate and soil, they produce incredibly complex wines, rich and full-bodied but with soft tannins. Barossa Shiraz has made an undeniable mark on the international wine scene. In contrast, Eden Valley Riesling is elegant and crisp, reflecting the cool climate and stony soil of the high vineyards. Its hallmark soft citrus bouquet, rich lime fruit palate combine with great acid structure and make Eden Valley Riesling a stand alone regional varietal, one of Australia’s classic wine styles.
Your private wine guide will meet you at your accommodation and accompany you on a delightful short drive through the Adelaide hills. This experience includes a private tutored premium wine tasting as well as your expert guided tastings at various wineries to suit your personal interests and so as to embrace the significant wine styles of this historic region. Also included is morning tea, a delicious lunch served at a local boutique restaurant, afternoon tea, and, at your choice, may include visits to local producers of cheese, dried fruits, smoked meats and other regional produce or continue guided wine tastings. By day’s end, you will have acquired a real insight into the regions. We aim to ensure that you will have experienced the very best Barossa and Eden Valleys have to offer.
